Bobby Valentine says he's seen pictures of Yankee players helping in the community post-9/11.

On second thought:
Bobby Valentine backed off comments he made last week that the Yankees were missing in action —”AWOL” — after 9/11.
“It was a mistake,” Valentine said in an interview scheduled to air Sunday on NBC Sports Radio’s Speaking of Sports. “I was asked my opinion. I’m not saying all my opinions are correct. I’m not saying all my opinions are fair.”
Valentine tells host Rob Simmelkjaer that since he made the comments Wednesday on WFAN’s “Benigno and Roberts Show” he has seen pictures of Yankee players helping in the community after 9/11.
“When I was doing whatever it was I was doing (at the time) I didn’t see what else was going (on),” Valentine said.
