Brewing storm pushed aircraft off runway
BANGALORE: A sudden burst of gusty crosswinds pushed a taxiing Indigo aircraft (6E-125) which hit the runway edge lights and veered off the runway, before its tyres burst on Thursday night, aviation experts said. The gusty winds are a brief phenomenon but capable of sending even bigger aircraft off-course, they added.
The accident happened at 8.10pm and resulted in authorities closing the runway for nearly two hours.

Chinese website begins selling aircraft
BEIJING: China's online-shopping websiteTaobao began selling aircraft and helicopters over the internet on Thursday. It put up three helicopters and two light sports aircraft on auction for four days until 10 am Monday.

Jet gets code-share nod with five airlines
NEW DELHI: Days after the Etihad tie-up, Jet Airways has got yet another major boost to expand its global footprint and become the biggest Indian carrier in terms of network. The aviation ministry has allowed Jet to go for code-sharing with five airlines — American Airlines,Malaysian, Garuda of Indonesia, Vietnam Airlines and Kenya Airways.
A code-share allows two or more airlines share the same flight. Passengers will buy ticket from one airline and take a flight operated by another airline, allowing partners to expand their global connectivity.
